Natalie Portman was pictured being spun around on a high-speed drive alongside John Krasinski in Liverpool on Thursday for upcoming film Fountain Of Youth.

But it seems they had a secret up their sleeves, as stunt doubles were used for some of the takes to drive the car around safely.

In the name of continuity, one actor wore a mask of John's face - whipping it off at one point and giggling.  And it certain takes, Natalie was also replaced by a lookalike.

Guy Ritchie's Fountain Of Youth follows a pair of estranged siblings (Natalie and John) who team up and embark on a journey to find the famed Fountain of Youth.

The tandem must pool their collective historical knowledge and go where clues lead them in an effort to live forever.

John's stunt double seamlessly took over and wore a scarily life-like mask as he slipped into the seat next to Natalie

The lookalike was no doubt thrilled to escape the mask her colleague had to wear

Guy, 55, has also directed Sherlock Holmes (2009), Aladdin (2019) and 2024 Netflix hit The Gentlemen, a spin-off of his 2019 film of the same name. 

Fountain Of Youth also stars Domhnall Gleeson and Eiza Gonzalez and will air on Apple TV+.

The film will be produced by Skydance Media in a collaboration with Project X Entertainment and Vinson Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The script by James Vanderbilt submitted to Skydance 'blew execs away,' sources told Deadline, making it a 'high priority' for the studio.

Skydance waited until it had the right combination of talent to proceed with the project, sources told the outlet, and have hit the jackpot with Oscar winner Natalie and actor-director John.

Guy's last film was The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare which underperformed at box office despite its star-studded cast.

Mexican actress Eiza, 34, again starred along with Henry Cavill, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Henry Golding.

Thursday's car chase comes just days after John attended the NYC premiere for his new film IF with his wife Emily Blunt.

IF is a live action-animated fantasy comedy directed, written, and produced by John, who also stars.

He place the hyper-realistic mask on its side at the back of the car, risking giving onlookers a heart attack 

Natalie and John soon got back in the car and John pulled a hilarious expression while Natalie looked scared for her life

At one point Natalie really looked as though she had lost consciousness while John continued looking to be in high spirits 

He locked his eyes and focused on something behind him as poor Natalie just tried to catch her breath

As they slowed down in their electric blue car, Natalie came to terms with the fear she had just felt

Out of character, the actors had a quick conversation with John resting his head on the car door and listening intently

Swapping positions, Natalie looked towards John while her looked straight on as the two shared a hearty laugh 

Onlookers got a glimpse of the work that goes into filming these scenes as the car was covered in machinery  

After their scene, John proved that it wasn't just Natalie's hair that was affected by the car-generated winds as his went from perfectly coiffed to spiky 

Meanwhile, Natalie's hair was carefully rearranged by a stylist as she stood with a group of staff by a wall

Natalie grinned as she stood in her olive-green velvet suit which she wore with a white shirt and a brown cross-body bag

Natalie finished her look with chic shoes featuring a thick platform and her stylist moved to stand on her other side

IF follows a young girl named Bea (Cailey Fleming), who has been going through a troubling experience in her life, unexpectedly gains the ability to see people's imaginary friends, or 'IFs'.

John stars as Bea's father, Ryan Reynolds as Bea's neighbour who can also see IFs, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a friend's IF.

Also starring is Harry Potter and Killing Eve actress Fiona Shaw CBE as Bea's grandmother.

A whole host of celebrities also star as IFs including Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Steve Carrell.
